Stage 1: Graduate Licenciate: Demonstration of Core Subject Competence
Competency in the areas of knowledge typically required in a traditional college or university program may be demonstrated through a combination of any of the following possible methods: challenge examinations; coursework; research projects; reports; assignments and/or final examinations. Depending on the field of study, students must demonstrate competence in 4 Core Subject areas.

Example: Those undertaking the professional exams of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (Australia) will need to undertake Stage Four (4 subjects) of ICMA's Graduate (GMA) Conversion program, to obtain Graduate Licenciate level competence.
