There at least three reasons to study for the Global MBA degree.

1. To qualify as a Professional Manager

The Global MBA degree is the professional qualification for tomorrow's managers. It helps you open doors to build a successful management career and gives you a head start against those without the degrees. For technical professionals (engineers, scientists, etc) interested to switch to careers in management, studying for an MBA is the best way to achieve it.

2. To Enhance Career Prospects

Studying for an MBA is an excellent means to acquire a broader perspective of business issues and to sharpen managerial skills. As such, this will prepare you to take on more responsible management assignments. For a functional manager, this is the best way to prepare you to take on more responsible management positions and prepare for a move to general management.

3. To Learn the Nuts and Bolts of Business

In the past, managers could succeed in business with guts and intuition. But in the hyper-competitive and fast-changing world of the 21st century, managers need modern management skills to survive and thrive successfully. Studying for an MBA is the best way to learn the nuts and bolts of business management.

Global MBA Accredited Universities

WITS has approved the following accredited universities for ICMA members to complete their MBA studies. These institutions have granted credit exemptions to Australian CMAs in the past. However, the granting of credit for prior studies is solely the prerogative of the degree granting institution. [Please note that once you enrol in a Global MBA university, you are no longer a student of the WITS GBS or of the ICMA].

The WITS MBA, CMA Dual Qualification

The WITS MBA is a 12 subject degree program validated by Jubilee University, PNG. It is taught in both face-to-face and online modes.

The educational rationale of this program is to further develop skills of analysis, evaluation and synthesis in the areas of business management and, in the process, create an awareness of some current developments in the field.

The WITS MBA will enable students to complete both a Masters degree and simultaneously become a certified member (CMA) of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia, provided 6 compulsory subjects in the MBA program are completed.

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA) Australia has fully accredited the MBA degree program offered by WITS. The courses of the CMA professional program are embedded within the core of the MBA, and students automatically cover the educational requirements of ICMA to be a ‘Certified Management Accountant’ whilst they undertake their post-graduate studies.

The WITS MBA is not available to Australian or overseas students resident in Australia. It is not a CRICOS registered degree program that enables overseas students to apply for student visas to study in Australia. [WITS GBS recommends students wishing to study in Australia apply for the MBA or MBAcc degree programs at the University of South Australia].
